Penggunaan Metode Karyawisata Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Dan Keterampilan Proses Sains Pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati

Abstract


Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati dan upaya pelestariannya melalui metode karyawisata. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTsN Model Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksperimen. Sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 2 kelas yang ditentukan secara random terdiri dari kelas eksperimen menggunakan metode karyawisata dan kelas kontrol dengan metode ekspositori. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji-z dengan bantuan program SPSS 16.0 for window. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara penerapan metode karyawisata dengan metode ekspositori terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa; (2) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara penerapan metode karyawisata dengan metode ekspositori terhadap peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa.

The purposes of this study were to know the improvement of students’ concept understanding and science processing skill in biodiversity material and its preservation effort through field trip method. The study was conducted in MTsN Model Banda Aceh. The method used was experimental research. The sample of this study was two classes which was determined by cluster random sampling that consisted of experimental class that used field trip method and control class that used expository method. The data then analyzedby using z- test with SPSS 16,0 for windows. The results showed that: (1) There was significant difference between using field trip method and expository method toward the improvement of students’ concept understanding. (2) There was significant difference between the aplication of field trip method and expository method in improving students’ science processing skill.
