The publication of Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial was based on the enthusiasm of lecturers of Law Department, UIN Ar-raniry to express their thought trhrough writing. However, at that time, the Law Department did not have a media to accommodate their enthusiasm. Hence the publication of this journal is very important. Interestingly, the presence of the journal is warmly welcome by Sharia and Law faculty's lecturers. In addition, the publication of the journal has contributed to the accreditation process of the Law Department as a new major in UIN Ar-raniry. The publication of the printed version of Journal Justisia in 2016 had a positive impact on the result of "B" level accreditation based on the assessment National Committe of Accreditation. 

Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial is published by Law Department, Sharia and Law Faculty in cooperation with Center for Research and Community Service (LP2M) of State Islamic University (UIN) Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. The journal is focusing to publish research articles on Islamic law (sharia) and law development, legislation, and social issues. Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial also has become a CrossRef Member. Therefore, all articles published by Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial will have unique DOI number.

Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial invites scholars and researchers to submit research articles on Islamic law issues. The manuscripts will be processed through several steps according to Jurnal Justisia: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum, Perundang-undangan dan Pranata Sosial's systems and regulations. The journal has been nationally accredited by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, listed in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) database. Since the 2019 publication, this journal has ranked with SINTA 4.
